ABOUT

The site is a prime location along a major road into Abu Dhabi, close to major venues and function centres including the Exhibition Centre and the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. The proposal used the advantages of this location to create an efficient yet unique building with high-class comfort in combination with green characteristics.

The arrangement of four diagonally-placed wings for four different functions ensured unobstructed visibility from all sides. Each part of the building can function separately while the building’s systems are combined. The hotel and the serviced apartments were positioned towards Airport Road to ensure maximum exposure. The office and the apartments faced the sports stadium.

A public entrance plaza was positioned between the four wings in the middle of the site. A common plinth formed a plateau overlooking the surrounding area and functioned as a spectacular outdoor lobby for all four wings. Trees and shade provided by the buildings provided comfortable conditions.

The building’s wings were joined together at higher levels providing green spaces and hanging gardens for the occupants. These green areas were continued partially into the facades where green buffer zones helped to create privacy and high quality interiors.
